Q. BRIAN TELL ME, HOW DO I GET MORE PRODUCTIVITY OUT OF MY DAY?
A. That’s easy all you have to do is master the use of your time by working out in advance what you plan to do. Then prioritise your tasks so that the high priority or top pay off items are done first.
Q. BRIAN HOW MANY GOALS SHOULD I BE WORKING ON AT ANY ONE TIME?
A. That’s an interesting question. What I have found is that the more practice you have at goal setting, the more goals you will have at any given time. The secret is to have as many as you can personally “manage”. That is, monitor and action on a frequent basis.
Q. BRIAN, MAY I ASK, WHAT IS AN IDEAL AGE TO INTRODUCE MY CHILDREN TO GOAL SETTING?
A. Great question! It all depends on the child, if they understand you well, then as early as their understanding allows. Help your child set goals that are easy to achieve. Understand the attention span of a 5 year old is not the same as a 10 year old. Teach them that by achieving a goal they get a reward, remember it must be a meaningful goal and the reward realistic.
Q. TELL ME BRIAN, HOW OLD MUST I BE BEFORE IT IS NO LONGER REALISTIC TO CONTINUE SETTING GOALS?
A. “Stop setting your goals just before taking your terminal breath”
Q. BRIAN i HAVE A PROBLEM, MY PARTNER THINKS GOAL SETTING IS JUST HYPE, HOW DO I HANDLE THIS?
A. The facts speak for themselves, one of the three major skills that successful people have is they use Goal Setting on a daily basis; this is a global fact. If you want to keep your relationship strong and happy, suggest some mutual goals, you will be amazed at how Goal Setting makes a good relationship, so much better.
Q. BRIAN WHY IS IT THAT I ALWAYS SEEM TO RUN OUT OF TIME WHEN I SET A GOAL?
A. This is one of the two main reasons why people who set goals sometimes do not achieve them. Setting unrealistic deadlines suggests that you haven’t properly considered all of the action steps that are involved in a particular goal. The setting of an arbitrary time limit or deadline is sometimes unrealistic. Remember you can almost always extend the deadline.
